Board of Trustees
The Kiwis For South Sudan Board are a small dedicated team of New Zealanders with a broad range of experience.
Our role is to provide an independent review and approval for all funding applications for health and development projects in South Sudan contributed by Jono and Destinee Macleod.

Peter Macleod - Board Chair
Peter Macleod, who lives in East Auckland with his wife and three adult children, has a career in the building industry that spans residential and commercial construction, land subdivision, and property development.

Reflecting on his involvement with Kiwis for South Sudan, Peter stated, “South Sudan is home to the poorest of the poor; it is the newest and most fragile nation where 1 in 6 children die before their first birthday. Kiwis for South Sudan funds healthcare for women and children and provides training for community healthcare educators. It is a privilege to be involved."

Dr James Peckett
I was born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand. In 2009, I graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. After graduation, I moved to Tauranga to work as a General Practitioner. Currently, I am a Director at the Mount Medical Centre, where I continue to practice medicine.

Together with my wife, who also works locally as a GP, we have three children and enjoy the lifestyle that the sunny Bay of Plenty offers. We feel fortunate to be part of this vibrant community

Ted Calvert
I grew up in the jungles of PNG as a missionary kid. My three siblings and I were homeschooled until high school. I studied engineering and built a 35-year career in the rail industry, focusing on design, maintenance, project management, and corporate management.

In 2010, to fulfill a long-term plan, I resigned. Now, I enjoy a mix of consulting for profit in New Zealand and volunteering in the third world, assisting small NGOs involved in Development Aid. I greatly admire Destinee and Jono and the work IDAT is doing, and I am committed to supporting their efforts for the long term.

Jeremy O'Hanlon
I’m a marketing executive who finds joy in the challenge of connecting with people. I've had a varied career, working in sectors from telecommunications to tech startups.
Alongside my Marketing and Psychology degree, I also earned a BCom in Finance from the University of Auckland, inspired by friends and the idea of exploring the share market.

Outside of work, I spend time with my three young children or enjoying the outdoors, especially diving and fishing when Jono is visiting.
